Trying to navigate a salad in the dark on a date is too complicated! Go for the pizza.

  2. Anonymous Says:

what happened to the Sangria?!?!? :(

  3. Anonymous Says:

Sangria is still on the menu. look above the mimosa

  4. Anonymous Says:

the beer menu is shitty as fuck. and center justified is the pits.

  5. Anonymous Says:

the beer menu is pretty extensive I thought, it is a movie theater not a beer garden. Also the menu is center aligned, not “center justified”…

  6. Anonymous Says:

    Burn.

  7. Anonymous Says:

    puerco guisado ftw!

  8. Anonymous Says:

What happened to the old Buffalo 66 sandwich? None of the Alamos have it anymore. :(

  9. Anonymous Says:

I like the hot cookies and ice cream, but they always come out a little bit burned!

  10. Anonymous Says:

My friend and I always get the chips and queso and creme brule…they are delicious. As for entrees, i like the “royale” with cheese and the 3 grilled cheese sandwich

  11. Kristen Says:

The spinach artichoke pizza is the most amazing pizza i have ever had. great work chef.

  12. Squirrel Says:

Bring back the GARCIA ALFREDO Pizza!!!

  13. Anonymous Says:

Their best pizza ever – Enter The Dragon – can still be ordered, even though it’s not on the menu!

  14. Erica Says:

I loved the meat and cheese plate appetizer….it’s no longer available…

  15. BurnetRhoades Says:

I’m hopeful that one of these days y’all will bring back pecan pie. Finishing off a meal with a slice of warm pecan pie with a scoop of Amy’s Mexican Vanilla Bean at a screening of Donnie Darko many moons ago is one of my fondest cinematic experiences.

  16. I lost it at the movies Says:

The Raging Bull pizza rocks! And the village has diet Dr. Pepper which almost noone else does. But please bring back the matinee special.

  17. ha Says:

3.59 for iced tea is kind of ridiculous

  18. The Italian Soda Guy Says:

Ok, I know not a lot of people drank the Italian sodas but seriously, removing 1/2 the flavors? How much can a bottle of surp possibly cost? Not to mention the fact that the stuff lasts for ever. Italian sodas are so hard to find anymore and I was always psyched about going because I could get one.
Don’t get me wrong I love the place but it just seems to be one of those cost cutting measures that really could have been avoided.

    Thanks,
    The Italian Soda Guy

  19. That Sucks. Says:

Seriously, $3.59 for iced tea is silly. Especially when you can get a latte or cappuccino cheaper or a mocha at the same price. Boo that!

  20. Lincoln Says:

I keep listening to the news speak about green tea so I have been looking around for the best site to get info on :)

  21. The Italian Soda Guy Says:

O.K. guys over there at Village. Seriously, still upset by the fact that I order an Italian soda and even the wait staff said they did not know why they don’t carry it because it lasts forever. Then I order a club and they say they did not have the stuff to make it. Extremely frustrating.. Like I previously stated, the wait staff is awesome and do there best to make it an awesome experience. The management on the other hand needs to get a clue, taking away the small things that give the place charm leaves a bad taste. There are small things that can make a huge impact but taking away the small things that even a few people enjoy can greatly impact popular opinion. I really hope Alamo reads this and takes some of it to heart.

    Thanks,
    The Italian Soda Guy

  22. Booh hoo!! Says:

What a bunch of complainers!!!! THey have tons of awesome items on the menu…so sad that some picky pricks have to complain about the one thing they do not! If it is so inexpensive to make Italian sodas then buy the stuff and learn to make it yourself!

  23. Logic Says:

You can get refills on the Tea and the soft drinks. If you don’t like the price, pick up a Go Local card, and you can get one non-alcoholic drink (other than espresso and OJ) for free per visit.

And do remember, the Alamo pricing is not just for the high quality of ingredients they use, but the extensive kitchen staff. Each theatre is like a restaurant, only unlike most restaurants, seating isn’t staggered, but all at once. That’s a lot of food, drink and logistics for a 90 minute movie.

  24. waaahhhh Says:

OMG ppl, go to a regular cinema if you don’t like the food or prices!!! I personally love everything about all the alamo drafthouses

  25. jenny Says:

i go here all the time. i love it. i love the food. i wish i could get a non alcoholic beer .

  26. Kitty Says:

Thank you for having and keeping the multiple vegetarian options on your menu. I hate the Lakeline Alamo for getting rid of the option to sub tofu in the salads and being less veggie friendly.

  27. Maya Says:

I second what Kitty says! Thanks for offering so many vegetarian options!!! Please don’t change that!

  28. mrsnever Says:

I LOVE that you’ve added a brunch menu on the weekends!! If only it were available always…

  29. Jon Says:

I found this blog on Google. It looks great, keep up the great work! ;)

  30. drinker Says:

Do they not have hard liquor at the village like they do at the Ritz?

  31. Gluten-Free Gal Says:

Any chance of getting some gluten and dairy free items on the menu? Love, LOVE the Asian Chicken salad but since we go every week, would like some other options. You can call me a whiner if you want. : D

  32. Ripley Says:

To drinker: Hard liquor is only at Ritz.

To Italian Soda Guy: I’ve been told that the syrup costs 50 cents per shot. They probably removed some of the less popular flavors.

  33. Kathe Says:

I recently moved to Austin (LOVE IT!!!) and just found this site. I’ve never been to a Rocky show, and I’m SO looking forward to it! I can’t wait!!!

It’s good to know that the food and service are great, too; although, do they serve dinner that late (madni

All of the Alamos are a great Austin treasure. I have enjoyed every item I have ordered from the menus downtown, lamar, and on Anderson lane. My partner and I and our 14 year old son enjoy a Alamo movie at least once a month. Thanks for all you do!!

  37. Cyn Says:

I agree with Gluten Free- It would be nice to have a few more gluten free options. Red bridge is a gluten free beer that is already on the rise!

  38. movie goer Says:

why in the hell would you serve noisy ass food while people are trying to hear the movie. chips are just the thing to order when you completely lack manners or consideration.

  39. barnacle Says:

@movie goer: Hey pal, how about you choose regular movie theatre if you don’t like Alamo style? Or even better, watch movies at home with headphones on.

I love you guys! The food is om…nom…nom. You do a great job.
I do wish the El Mariachi pizza would come back, it was awesome.
Oh, and I’m pregnant and this no-alcohol thing is for the birds. Kaliber is undrinkable, but I’d be your best friend if you added a non-alcoholic wine, or at least a decent non-alc beer.

  42. laleman Says:

LOVE you guys! Seems to be something for everyone, at least everyone who can accept that having a backup plan at a restaurant is always a must. Anyway, my son and I enjoyed Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D at The Village so much that we are going back with a couple of his friends for Avatar. I love and enjoy the concept of Alamo Drafthouse, I love that you offer special times for parents to take smaller babies rather than have them struggle during evening movies, and I love that I can do movie and a meal all in one spot – a real meal, not just movie snacks. Keep up the good work, glad to hear there is an AD in Katy (which is an equal distance for me), and I hope someday you are a household name across the country!

Ripley, not sure if you are an employee or not. If you are I appreciate the response and am glad someone is actually reading the blog. :0 If not, still good information. I do love the place and have been going about as long as they have been around.

To: People who bitch too much
If you are going to say something try to make it constructive criticism. Bitching about how dumb someone else’s comment just decreases the chances of anyone who can make a change actually reading the comments.

    Thanks again,
