January’s Alamo Montage!

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Song this time around is a remix of Cut Copy’s Hearts on Fire by Gooseflesh. The awesomeness is Chuck Norris.

The December Alamo Montage

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Another montage cut by Caitlin, with a couple of old school styled trailers following that. Feel free to disagree, but we thought that the Sing-Along and Master Pancake shows would be better served by stand-alone trailers that let you hear the awesomeness of the songs and the funniness of John’s voice…

The November Alamo Montage

Monday, October 20th, 2008

The new montage for upcoming specialty shows is up and running at our theaters now, but if you haven’t made it in yet, or just want to relive the excitement you felt when the lights first went dim in the theater this weekend, you can check it all out right here:

The song on that one is called 11h30 by the group Danger. You can find it on iTunes pretty simply if you’re looking for it, and I’ve gotta give thanks to James Pound for pointing me in the direction of that one in the first place. Thanks, James!

Also, if you hate that song, you can blame James. But you shouldn’t, cause it’s awesome.

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

The new montage of upcoming events for October is here, and you can check it out in stunning YouTube definition so you know what to expect next time it’s up on the big screen:

Caitlin cut this one together for us, and for all the fans of the song out there, she’d like for you to know that it’s the Black Kids remix of “I’m Good, I’m Gone” by Lykke Li.

Thank you, Caitlin!

Jon Gries is NOT a vegetarian!!!

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

We had a wonderful visit with Jon Gries this week at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. After this, his second trip to the theater and I have to say, he’s one of our all-time favorite guests. He’s down to earth, fun to hang out with and free of any Hollywood artifice. If/when he comes back to Austin, I have to beg each and every one of you to please not ask him the question, “Are you a vegetarian.” Straight off the plane, we took him directly to Smitty’s in Lockhart, and donned a cap from that fine establishment for the duration of his stay. I can personally vouch that he is a solid carnivore. Wikipedia has been corrected and our pal Freddie Avalos at Texas Geek TV has even cut together a video montage of Jon explaining his position on the consumption of flesh over and over and over again. Check it out above! Thanks Freddie!

Vlog: Zack’s Crotch

Monday, October 1st, 2007

This is a video montage we put together for the Fantastic Fest Awards Ceremony this year. We wanted it to feel kind of like a high school graduation video, the kind you watch with all your friends during the overnight lock-in where you see yourself walking down the hall in slow motion and you think about how strange it is that you’ll never go to that locker again and you get all weepy. Except instead of lockers and teenagers, we have gore cannons shooting at Zack Carlson’s crotch (way funnier than the previous gore cannon video) and Zack Ward telling you what to do with his.

Teen Witch Songwriter Larry Weir makes a phone call

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

Last weekend we welcomed Larry Weir, the songwriter for the incredible TEEN WITCH, to a packed house of rabid fans. Alamo intern Stephanie Cook was onhand with a camera and edited together this lovely montage of the Q&A. She’d like to apologize for all the crossfades, but that was the only way she could get through the really long screaming sessions from the fans. Dang!
