| THE ALAMO GUIDE
for July 10th, 2009 |
Oh my god! I think summer’s actually starting now! I mean sure, the 100+ degree weather said that it started a month ago, but BRUNO and HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE are coming up and I AM SO EXCITED! As a mega Harry Potter nerd, I already have my spot lined up for opening week AND for the HARRY POTTER HOGWART’S FEAST prepped annually by our fantastic chef John Bullington. Check out that menu and prepare your mind for some tasty, magical business. If you can’t make it to the feast, we still have our menu specials (Butterbeer! Holla!), and even more menu specials for BRUNO (weiner schnitzel anyone?). Also playing this week, we have THE GARDEN with the director live, the BREAKING AWAY ROLLING ROADSHOW at Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop, a free Fantastic Fest screening and more! More! More! Also, if you’re planning on attending FANTASTIC FEST this year (it’s a good idea, trust me), you may be interested to know that our first press release is coming up on Monday, July 13th! It’s gonna let you know what a few of our movies are gonna be. Oh, and it’s totally a secret, but our opening night film and guest is gonna be AWWEESSOMMEEE!

| THE GARDEN
WITH DIRECTOR LIVE IN ATTENDANCE!
July 12th (Sun), 13th (Mon) & 14th (Tues) at S. Lamar
Director Scott Hamilton Kennedy in attendance for the screenings on Sunday and Monday only!
The fourteen-acre community garden at 41st and Alameda in South Central
Los Angeles is the largest of its kind in the United States. Started as a form of healing after the devastating L.A. riots in 1992, the South Central Farmers have since created a miracle in one of the country’s most blighted neighborhoods. Growing their own food. Feeding their families. Creating a community.
But now, bulldozers are poised to level their 14-acre oasis. THE GARDEN
follows the plight of the farmers, from the tilled soil of this urban farm to the polished marble of City Hall. Mostly immigrants from Latin America, from countries where they feared for their lives if they were to speak out, we watch them organize, fight back, and demand answers. The film has the pulse of verité with the narrative pull of fiction, telling the story of the country’s largest urban farm, backroom deals, land developers, green politics, money, poverty, power, and racial discord. It explores and exposes the fault lines in American society and raises crucial and challenging questions about liberty, equality, and justice for the poorest and most vulnerable among us.

| BREAKING AWAY ROLLING ROADSHOW
Sunday, July 12th at Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop
We’ve teamed up with Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop (at 4th and Nueces in
downtown Austin) to put together a couple of free events for the cycling-oriented families of Austin. On July 5, you can join us for their Tour de France Launch Party, and on July 12 we’ll have a special screening of BREAKING AWAY.
1979 saw the release of the film BREAKING AWAY, a film that spoke to the hearts of all the Euro-phile cycling fans embedded within American Cycling Culture. 2009 marks the 30 year anniversary of the Academy Award winning film, and to pay tribute to this film Rapha has teamed up once again with Austin, Texas based shop Mellow Johnny’s to present:
BREAKING AWAY with Rapha and Mellow Johnny’s.
Taking place right in the middle of the Tour de France the event will pay tribute to Cycling and Breaking Away by re-entacting the final race scene of the film. Ten teams will compete in our own version of the Little 500 on July 12th. We have even brought back some of the local flavor that was a part of the Roller Races and added a few new teams. But the night doesn’t end there. Following the racing The Alamo Drafthouse has come onboard to show the film in a special outdoor screening directly behind Mellow Johnny’s.

| FANTASTIC FEST presents: REC
SPECIAL FREE SCREENING
Sunday, July 12th at the Village
There’s a rumor going around that REC is one of the most terrifying films of all time, and we’re pleased to report that those rumors are incredibly true. This film has long been on our Fantastic Fest wish-list, but circumstances have delayed an Austin premiere until now, a mere two days before it’s official U.S. release on DVD and Blu-Ray from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. No matter, because we’re psyched as hell to finally screen this new terror classic at the Alamo (for FREE), and we insist – insist! – that anyone and everyone who loves horror films and loves to be scared witless in a movie theater must attend this special one-time-only screening. It may sound like we’re overselling this one, but trust us when we say that die-hard horror lovers the world over have loudly voiced their approval of REC, and to finally share it with you at the Alamo Drafthouse will be an experience in horror that no one who attends will ever forget. Believe us on this one.
Special thanks to our friends at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
This show is FREE, first come first served, but priority seating will be given to current Fantastic Fest badgeholders! Please bring confirmation of your FF badge purchase to the show to be admitted first!

| HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE FEAST
Sunday, July 20th at South Lamar
Watch HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE in ultimate style!
The Harry Potter Hogwart Academy Feast has been one of the most popular Film & Food offerings in the history of the Alamo Drafthouse. And
while we have rushed to the defense of our chefs John Bullington and
Trish Eichelberger when they have been accused of witchcraft by certain
intolerant parties, the thought has long lingered in the back of our minds that maybe there was some sort of unholy collusion with the forces of magic at work in their delicious middle English menu. But after a butter-beer, all our cares sort of melt away and we just relax and enjoy the great food and a great movie. If they are immensely powerful wizards, we’re glad they’re on our side.
The Menu
first Scallop-mushroom pie
second Cauliflower and carrot terrine, mustard vinaigrette
third Chilled leek soup
fourth Roast pheasant supreme wrapped in house cured bacon, Cumberland sauce, potato-stilton gratin, fresh peas
fifth Bramble berry pudding, lavender cream
TICKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE OPENING WEEK OF HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE! GET THOSE HERE!
We’ll have butter beer, great Potter food specials, Potter Pre-show and all the greatness you’d expect from the Alamo!

| IN DA CLUB SING-ALONG
Thursday, July 16th at the Ritz
We’ll take all the club hits that get us up and dancing, but we’ll free them from the confines of the obnoxious crap that passes for a dance club in this city by bringing them all into the Alamo Ritz instead. Because at the Alamo Ritz, every single person at the party has a reserved table, and you don’t have to pay $300 for one bottle to get one. When you want to hang out and chill, just lounge in your seat. Wanna go crazy to Love Sex Magic? Come on up to the stage. Expect to see plenty of Kanye West, T.I., T-Pain, Ciara, the Black Eyed Peas, and beats from every other contender out there vying for the title of 2009’s Ultimate Summer Jam.
So crack a bottle, and let your body waddle. Th-th-that that don’t kill you only makes you stronger.

| SUMMER KIDS’ CAMP!
Monday through Thursday at S. Lamar & Village!
This summer, the Alamo Drafthouse will give kids and parents a chance to take a relaxing break with Free Movies every week at the Alamo South Lamar and Village. Movies screen at 11 AM.
Seating is on a first come first served basis so be there early for the best seats.
SKY HIGH plays at South Lamar this week!
Most teenagers cringe at the thought of meeting their parents’ high
expectations — good grades, well-behaved friends, and a plan for the
future — and none more so than Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano), the son of legendary superheroes Commander (Kurt Russell) and Jetstream (Kelly Preston). This clever Disney comedy follows Will from his first day as star student at Sky High, an elite school for the children of superheroes. The only problem is that Will apparently has no special powers, and he can’t let his parents find out! Lacking the abilities needed to attend hero classes, Will falls in with the misfit sidekicks, whose only powers include turning into a guinea pig, glowing, and melting. However, when an old villain with a new power reappears on the scene, the pressure is on Will and his sidekicks to save his parents, his school, and the earth itself.
THE CAT FROM OUTER SPACE plays at the Village this week!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the name/artist of the song that plays during the July Alamo ad montage. I’ve heard it three times now and realized at the latest sing-along that it’s pretty catchy, as we were all dancing to it. Thanks!

Assessing the cash flow is one more important element in the company strategy format, so as to sustain a normal cash flow to meet the important capital needs. Probability of monetary crisis and also the methods of crisis management must be pointed out in the structure. The business technique should consist from the advertising plans and technique leading to the expansion from the company.
