We Sang the Sh*t Out of Austin!
Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I introduce you to… RENEGADE KARAOKE.
It’s pretty much all explained in the video, but last week Tim and I led a band of roving singers around Austin for the first ever Renegade Karaoke mission. The idea was simple – singers could sign up for their song, and our mobile karaoke rig would let them sing it anywhere in town that they wanted to.
We’d initially envisioned things like people knocking on the door of their exes and singing, “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” or some other such nonsense, but the people on this inaugural trip took nonsense to an entirely different (and more awesome) level.
From the very first “Drift Away” being sung to people doing ab exercises in the parking lot of Jack and Adam’s to the last “Total Eclipse of the Heart” in the parking lot of Uchi, this first Renegade Karaoke trip proved one thing to us without a doubt – it will not be the last.
Check out the video and get some vicarious awesomeness through it, then join us next time:

One of the regrets of my life is given the opportunity to join you for this or see Adventureland, I chose the movie. Never again will I make such a stupid decision. When given the choice for my next stupid decision, I will get on that bus like I was supposed to.
